  • Are you a cat or a dog person?

  • Both, but again if it has to be 1 then it would be dogs.

  • Who would you like to be stuck in a lift with?

    I've Been Cooking With Gas.

I've done a lot of baking today.

First off I decided to make Veggie Steak Suet Puddings.  I got the idea from Frugal Queen's blog recently when she made Steak and Kidney Puds. (Thanks Froogs:)

    I fried an onion.

Then I added the veggie chunks £1.50 a bag from £sda.

While this was frying, I made the Suet Pastry using Atora Veggie Suet.

    Mixed with a little water.

I greased 2 Pirex Pudding basins and lined them with the pastry.

I stirred the Chunks into the Gravy, splodged in some Brown Sauce, and spooned the mixture into the lined Pudding Basins.

Then I covered the puddings with the Pastry lid, and  brushed with a beaten egg.

and zapped in the Microwave for 6 minutes.

    Et Viola!

I had some Pastry leftover so I lined another Pudding Basin with Pastry, looked in the Pantry and found  a tin of Pineapple Chunks so tipped them in the Pastry and covered with a Pastry lid and brushed with egg.  I have put this in the Fridge to cook tomorrow.

I then pulled out a packet of £sda ready made Puff Pastry.

I decided to make Baked Beans Slices.

I cut this in half and rolled out 1 piece to cover my Chopping Board.

I spooned on some Value Baked Beans, brushed the edges with egg and folded over and sealed it.

As usual, I put too much Filling in (I hate it all Pastry and hardly any Filling).

I poked the knife into it 4 times and brushed it with egg.

I repeated this with the other piece of Pastry and Baked on a Baking Tray at Gas no. 6 for about 20 minutes.

The Baked Beans spilled out and made a bit of a  mess it will still taste nice.

We will have this for Dinner tomorrow with some Salad.

I've been looking for a good Recipe for Vegetarian Marshmallows and think I've found one so hope to make that tomorrow.  And some Vegetarian Quiches.

Sorry about the quality of some of the photos, I am using my daughter's camera at I'm not used to it.

It's been a long and busy day today (didn't sleep much last night) so I will have to sort the ' Tagging' tomorrow as I'm absolutely exhausted.

Thank you for reading and following me.

    Night Night.

    R.I.P. Whitney.

    What sad news this morning.

    She had an amazing voice.

This was her best in my opinion:

Quilting Fabrics For Now And Visiting The Homeless.

Sorry it's not a very good photo but it was the best I could do for now.

These are a few of my fabrics I think I might use for some Patchwork.

I have more to photograph later.

I took some Pasties and a Sleeping Bag to a couple of homeless men  on Wednesday.

The Sleeping Bag was to replace one that had been stolen apparently. I asked them what help they needed and told them that I had a Bag that wasn't needed by us so I gave it to them.

Hoping to go up town tonight to see how they are and if the young man is still on the street as he said he hoped it would only be for a few days.

Projects I'm Doing and Tillman The Skateboarding Bulldog

I watched Super Smart Animals on BBC 1  last night and this Skateboarding and Surfing Bulldog was on it and he is so cute, clever and very funny, I think most people will enjoy watching him.

Here's the link for him on Youtube:

I have a number of  WIP but this is what I've just started for my eldest:

It is knitted in a brushed double knit yarn called 'Haze' by King Cole and is a reasonable £2.50 per ball and I only needed 2 balls for the Jacket in a size 12.

I have shown the pattern as well because it shows the other instructions on the same pattern for a lovely dress, which I would also like to make a bit later on. That only takes 3 balls to make a size 12 dress.

I also got some backing for the king size Patchwork Quilt I am about to start.  It is 100% Cotton in Cream.

I also bought the Wadding which is Bamboo.

I hope to pop back later with more photos of the fabrics I plan to use for the Patchwork.

    What We Had For Dinner.

Today we had Cauliflower Cheese for dinner.

Well that was what it started out as but I put frozen Cauliflower, Sweetcorn, Peas, Veggie Mince into a large oven dish and covered it with Cheese Sauce from £ainsburys. (4 packets for a £.)

I popped it into the oven for 1/2 hour at Gas 5 then covered it with grated Cheddar Cheese and sliced Tomato and back in the oven for another 20 minutes.

It tasted better than it looked.

Done some more decluttering yesterday and today.

Also got a bit of carpet from Freecycle ages ago which I used some for the summer house and the rest was brought into the house and will be cut to fit in the Living Room to make it a bit warmer.

We currently have laminate flooring which I think is more hygienic but so cold.

Whilst decluttering, I have been gathering together all my fabrics and after I finish blogging I will go through and pick out co-ordinating ones and cut out squares for a Patchwork Quilt.

I'm hoping to do one with Cath Kidston fabrics:)

I've been meaning to start one for ages and reading a lot of the blogs lately, have noticed a lot of you out there have been getting on with quilts.

I will take some photos and blog about it as soon as I get started.

My youngest is at her school  watching their drama group performing a play and when I pick her up in about an hour we will run up town and give the Value Minced Beef  Pasties that I bought the other day to the homeless.

Off now to have a quick read of other people's blogs.

    Snow, Snow, Snow.

     ~Below is
Above, is a photo of our road last night, it started late evening.

And more photos taken today: The back garden, see our chicken run at the back on the left.
My eldest took our old girl to the field for a little walk and she loved it:
    She's thirteen this month.

A year ago last october she almost died.

She had an infection in the womb, I forget what it's called now but it's often fatal.

After a big, and costly operation it was touch and go.

She wouldn't eat for days, I  had to spoon feed her, if anyone owns a Golden Retriever you will know that they are greedy pigs  so when they are off their food it is really serious.

Gradually, over a week or so she gradually perked up.

    Now look at her.

The children have all grown up with her so she is really one of the family.

Youngest is out  in the snow having a whale of a time with her friends sledging.

    Declutter, Declutter, Declutter!

I haven't been blogging much lately as I am on a mission to declutter my house.

So far this week I have Freecycled 4 items, filled 4 binbags of comlete tat which no-one  can re-use,  got 2 large recycle bags full of paper (old letters, newspapers etc.)

All this was from my bedroom!!!lol.

I would show you a before and after picture but i'm too embarrassed :/-

I have to add that a lot of this stuff was from my parents house when I emptied it after they both died.

But that was over 6 years ago, I just couldn't face it before.

My bedroom still looks like a Jumble Sale but I am going to  Keep Calm and Carry On  until I've finished, then I will post an  'after'  photo, maybe  even a  'before'  aswell.

Spare a Thought For The Homeless.

I couldn't sleep yesterday evening, and decided to go to the supermarket around midnight instead of going there today.

You all know how cold it is at the moment, and |I was driving through the High Street and saw 3 Homeless men lying down in a shop doorway. It really upset me as we are all moaning about how cold it is but they are actually trying to sleep outside on concrete!

I decided to buy a packet of Pasties and some bottles of fruit flavoured water for them.

After shopping, I drove back to town and parked over the road then I got a bit apprehensive about approaching them but I needn't have worried as they were extremely polite and very thankful.

I  wish there was something more I could do.

I think that it is morally wrong that in the 4th richest country in the world (I believe that is what we are) in 2012 that some people have nowhere to live. And what is worst, is that other people have homes standing empty.

Spare a thought for them. It's so cold out there.
